WEDDING BEAUTY TRIAL

(trying on gowns at Moda Operandi)

Full disclosure: I do not enjoy getting my makeup done. There has not been one time in my life where I actually enjoyed the "makeover" process. Since I am preparing for a wedding, makeup and hair was obviously on the list, so a trial was a "to-do" among many other "to-dos". Initially I thought it would be really fun to get pampered, but as in most things, when something becomes a necessity, the fun is kind of thrown out the window. However, I was pleasantly surprised when I walked into Beautini, a full service glam-squad offering services in both makeup and hair. I explained what I was looking for, and the team went to work, creating several different styles for my upcoming wedding day.

For inspiration, I pulled from my Pinterest board saved from the past few months. I am most interested in looking like an "elevated" version of myself, so natural makeup and tasseled waves are more my speed. As for hair, I am looking to have a bun for the ceremony and waves for the reception, so these two photos were ideal inspiration.

Makeup was going to be a bit trickier. I am looking to be "au natural", but still done-up.

These two looks were super natural looking. I am especially loving that dewy glow both Carolyn and Chrissy are rocking in these photos.

When it was time for me to get my hair done, I also know I want to wear a headpiece or tiara, which the team at Deepa Gurnani so graciously lent me for the day of my trial.

I came with my Pinterest board ready in one hand and my tiaras in the other, fresh faced with clean hair and ready for a couple hours of grooming.

I am still very undecided with my beauty look, and am still pulling inspiration for another possible beauty trial. Since you only get married once, I want to look my best and feel my best for one of the most important days of my life.

  1. I was really worried and shed lots of tears during the week of my wedding. But walking into that hall was such an amazing moment. I would suggest the Chicago wedding venues for any event of under 100 people where you want an elegant atmosphere for a very reasonable price.
